Robert “Bob” Dickey is the principal in Public Services Consulting. Bob has served in various positions ranging from City Manager/Executive Director to Department Manager in 6 cities within Los Angeles County: South Gate, Santa Monica, Bell Gardens, Rosemead, Walnut, and Signal Hill. Also, private sector experience has augmented public service. At Southern California Edison experience was accrued in Public Affairs, Legislative & Local Governmental Affairs, and Economic and Business Development. His financial education was developed early as an account executive with a member of firm of the New York Stock Exchange.

Throughout Bob’s career his management focus was on operational efficiency and development of revenue streams with demonstrated results: City of South Gate, secured $57 million in grants in five years, improved operations reducing $2 million in annual spending; City of Bell Gardens, economic development used unsubordinated ground leases creating new revenue of $3 million annually; City of Walnut increased the tax base by $171 million in assessed value (housing and shopping centers).

Bob has demonstrated leadership and provided service in public and non-profit organizations: served on the Executive Committee for the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership; past Chair of the California State Association of Counties Corporate Associates Economic Development Committee; Rotary member and past president in several clubs and currently in the Walnut Valley Rotary Club; Adjunct Professor and Public Administration Advisory Council Member at California State University, Los Angeles.

Bob received his Master of Science in Public Administration degree from California State University, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton.

Bob can perform staff work as an internal consultant or prepare studies as an external analyst; can assist with goal setting and facilitating; financial analysis, safety, long range planning, public works, and human resource development assistance; can function as an expert, pair of hands, or in a collaborative role; can achieve results and provide accountability.
